Commission E Pushes for Accelerated Health Center Revitalization

Jakarta Council (DPRD) Commission E Secretary, Justin Adrian, delivered several key recommendations during discussions on the draft amendment to the General Budget Policy and Temporary Budget Ceiling (KUA-PPAS) 2025, particularly related to Health Agency.

Following discussions with Jakarta DPRD Budget Committee (Banggar) and the executives, the Health Agency's budget in the 2025 Revised General Budget (APBD) was set at Rp11.4 trillion, an increase from the initial allocation of Rp10.93 trillion, although slightly lower than the proposed revision of Rp11.43 trillion.

"Commission E emphasized the need to accelerate the construction and revitalization of health centers in areas that still lack of standard healthcare facilities, such as Cilandak Barat and Semper Timur," Justin stated at Jakarta DPRD Building, on Friday (7/11).

DPRD also encouraged increasing service capacity in general hospital (RSUD) and health centers (puskesmas), including additional beds, neonatal medical equipment, and improved ICU services. Frequent reports of medicine shortages in several health facilities also drew attention, with a proposal to allocate a specific budget to address this issue.

Commission E also called for an evaluation and improvement of hospital referral system to enhance efficiency, as well as better access and performance of JakAmbulans program in serving the public.

"We also see the need for a strategic health service plan based on public complaints and quality indicators," he added.

Moreover, Commission E also proposed equal distribution of medical equipment across all type A RSUDs, along with a dedicated budget allocation for tuberculosis and stunting treatment down to the puskesmas level.
